When I first stepped into roles where data, strategy and execution collided, I assumed leadership was about big moments and formal authority. I’d prepared decks, analyzed key metrics, and knew the business performance. Yet what actually moved teams and decisions had less to do with my titles and more to do with how I showed up every day. Over time, I realized that culture is crafted in countless small interactions: the way you communicate, listen, invest in people, encourage learning and sharing their ownership. These practices I had to learn the hard way while juggling shifting priorities and incomplete information. I’d like to share five lessons from that journey, habits that build trust and engagement across every level of the organization.
